Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz 2 Results: Joshua dominates to regain title

5:52pm EST

* In a highly anticipated fight billed ‘Clash at the Dunes’ in Saudi Arabia and seen on DAZN sports streaming service, Andy Ruiz defended the WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF World Heavyweight titles he won this past June in a stunning Madison Square Garden upset against former Unified champion Anthony Joshua.

* Observing this fight proved the thoughts of the United Kingdom’s boxing hero’s demise as a true world champion were greatly exaggerated & premature as the man who put United Kingdom on the map in this era of Heavyweight boxing dominated the Mexican-American champion with a boxing lesson of epic proportions.

* Ruiz attempted several times to get Anthony Joshua to engage in an in-the-pocket showdown that led to the knockout upset in June, but this time, Joshua would box a smart fight, using his jab and clinching to avoid Ruiz’s power combinations.  It was truly a great performance that will most likely lead to a 3rd fight which both fighters say they want. Beyond that, there is no question fans will be clamoring for the winner of Wilder (WBC Heavyweight Champion of the World) vs. Fury (Lineal World Heavyweight Champion) to face Joshua for the undisputed title.  Time will tell on that, but as for tonight in Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua told the world he is back and is now the 2-time unified Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Official Scorecards:  Joshua 119-109, 118-110, 118-110
