Haney vs. Garcia at Barclays Center April 20th

2/28/24 4:15pm (EST)

The boxing community wanted a mega-fight, and live from the Barclays Center in NYC (Brooklyn) the boxing community will get just that. On April 20th, 2024, just 5 days after national tax day, Undefeated former-Undisputed Lightweight champion of the world and reigning WBC Super-Lightweight title-holder Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) will be challenged by former WBA Interim Lightweight champion Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) who will have his 2nd big time pay-per-view fight in the past 12 months, having lost to still undefeated 3-division World Champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis by TKO last April.

There is no doubt that Devin Haney will come into this fight as a favorite, and it’s this writer’s perspective that it will be an action-packed fight with Boxing world’s eyes fixated on the home of the Brooklyn Nets this spring. Haney will be looking to add to his already impressive career resume and legacy against Garcia who recently was victorious against Oscar Duarte, but is still looking for that signature win that escaped him in April of 2023.

Both fighters are extremely skilled and charismatic, and with the added backdrop of New York City, there is no question, both these world class athletes will be looking to impress the thousands of fans inside the Barclays Center and millions of fans all over the world watching on pay-per-view.  The only question left to answer is who will win?  Well, we won’t know that until the late evening hours of April 20th, however Hubbard Wrestling Weekly© predicts a Unanimous decision victory for the man they call ‘The Dream’, Devin Haney.
